The Most Awesome Hotels Around the World

  •
Hôtel de Glace - Quebec City, Canada Created from 15,000 tons of snow and 500,000 tons of ice, the Hôtel de Glace actually needs to be rebuilt by a team of about 60 workers every winter, and only stays open from January to March. It's built by freezing ice around steel supports suspended by cranes, and then they add the doors, appliances, and furniture in afterwards.
  •
The St. Ives Bay SK2 - Cornwall, England The St. Ives Bay SK2 once roamed all around the railways of England as a 1957 corridor coach, but has settled down for a lucrative second life as a hotel resort. The former train car can be rented as two rooms, or as one big unit.
  •
The Helicopter Cottage - Winvian Cottages - Litchfield, CT The Winvian Cottages have a lot of unique properties on their expansive premises, but the most interesting by far is the Helicopter Cottage, which features a restored 1968 Sikorsky Sea King Pelican HH3F helicopter. The bed shares the hangar space with the helicopter, so you don't have to get too cozy.
  •
Cappadocia Cave Resort - Uchisar, Cappadocia, Turkey Built into the side of a mountain, The Cappadocia Cave Resort doesn't just sport amazing panoramic views of the cavern-pocked Turkish countryside; it's a full service spa as well.
  •
Coco Palm Bodu Hithi - North Male Atoll, Maldives Coco Palm Bodu Hithi is pretty much what everyone imagines when they think of an island paradise. The resorts are built on stilts above the crystal clear waters, and each one has it's own private hot tub, 24 hour butler service, 5 star amenities, on-site SCUBA lessons, and pretty much everything else you'd need to forget about your real life back home.
  •
Benesse House - Kagawa, Japan Designed by famous Japanese architect, Tadao Ando, the Benesse House is like a modern art museum with hotel rooms in it... or more accurately, a modern art museum where the hotel rooms are the exhibits unto themselves.
  •
Abali Gran Sultanato - Sicily, Italy The Abali Gran Sultanato may look a little like a clown car exploded inside a paint store, which then exploded inside a hotel, but with private Jacuzzis in each room, you can rest assured that you'll be comfortable throughout your stay.
  •
Jumbo Stay - Arlanda, Sweden A converted c1976 jumbo jet now houses one of the most unique hotel experiences out there. There are rooms that can accommodate up to three people, but the most luxurious room in the retired airliner is the former captain's cockpit.
  •
Dream Hotel - New York, NY The Dream Hotel's ambiance is somewhere in between fantasy and futurism. The beds look as if they are levitating or resting on clouds. The hotel also has an amazing rooftop bar that looks over Central Park!
