Nearly two dozen teachers in two HISD schools are re-assigned to non-classroom duties after the district says testing irregularities during the 2012-13 school year were found by an independent investigation.
Eleven teachers from Jefferson Elementary and four teachers at Atherton Elementary School were moved to other positions within the district while the investigation continues.
Superintendent Terry Grier tells our TV partner Local-2, "When the district receives information that the integrity of the state's testing process might have been compromised, it's important that a thorough investigation is conducted. Throughout this process, our top priority is to ensure that learning is not disrupted for any student."
The teachers have strongly denied the allegations through their union representatives.
