Snow Returns To Our Area

Freezing rain and light snow conditions moved into our area early this morning.

Weather Channel Meteorologist Terri Smith, says "It's slightly colder right at the freezing point in northern parts of the city. But we'll wind up in the mid 40's by mid morning so it won't stick around. Drivers are advised to take precaution during this morning's commute, incase highways get a little slippery."

Drivers heading into town from the Woodlands, Cypress, Katy and Bear Creek are advised to check the weather before heading out to work this morning.

No school closures nor flight delays or cancelatons are expected.

For other parts of Texas, the National Weather Service has issued a winter weather advisory for the Texas Panhandle, the South Plains and the West Texas Rolling Plains through midafternoon Thursday. As much as 2 inches of snow is expected to accumulate west of an Eastland-Jacksboro-Bowie line.

Temperatures were not expected to top the teens in the Panhandles and 20s in North and West Texas on Thursday. Northerly winds gusting to 20 mph will plunge the wind chill to zero and below.
