Sen. Cornyn to Vote Against Immigration Reform

Texas Senator John Cornyn says he will not be voting for the immigration reform bill in the Senate.

Cornyn had his amendment that would require measurable results defeated.  Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid placed a deadline for passage of the bill to be done before the Fourth of July recess.

Cornyn says since the Senate has to vote before the end of the week, no more amendments will be voted on and says the bill leaves plenty to be desired.

The bill will then head to the House of Representatives where Cornyn says he hopes he will be able to work with the conference committee on strengthening the bill.

House Speaker John Boehner says there will be no voting on immigration reform in the House, without support from a majority of Republicans.
