As usual, the rumor mill is spinning out of control for an Apple product that doesn't exist. But if Apple introduces a TV ad-skipping technology, it could be revolutionary.
High Tech Texan Michael Garfield says Apple is reportedly planning to pay the TV networks for the ad revenue they would lose.
"That's the way it's going. It's also happening with radio with satellite radio and that kind of thing."
Some speculate Apple could charge a monthly fee to use the ad skipping technology -- whatever it turns out to be.
But Garfield doubts Apple would charge a monthly fee.
"I don't think Apple is gonna go that way; their iTunes is pretty much 'you download it you pay for what you play.'"
