Two more demonstrations over the George Zimmerman verdict are scheduled this weekend in Houston. Marchers will be at City Hall this morning as part of Rev. Al Sharpton’s “Justice for Trayvon” movement, organized by his National Action Network.
All eyes will be on the upscale River Oaks neighborhood Sunday, as demonstrators will also be met by a counter protest organized by supporters of “stand your ground” laws.
A prayer vigil organized by supporters of Trayvon Martin will also take place at the Galveston Post Office on 25th Street.
One week ago today, a Florida jury acquitted neighborhood watchman George Zimmerman in the shooting death of the unarmed teenager.
