Police Increase Patrols for Holiday Weekend

Harris County Deputy Constables are stepping up patrol this Memorial Day weekend.

Constable Alan Rosen says they are increasing the number of officers on the road until Monday to protect motorists from impaired drives.  The increased patrols are part of the year-long enforcement effort to catch drunk drivers during holidays that have higher numbers of people on the roads.

According to Mothers Against Drunk Driving, every 90 seconds a person is injured in accident involving alcohol in the United States.  The 14 law enforcement agencies with the Houston-Galveston Area Council's Regional DWI Task Force will also be out this weekend.
