Office Productivity Might be at Risk

A Houston-based labor consultant says there could be a drop off in productivity this week, with Christmas Day being right in the middle on Wednesday.

Garrison Wynn says, if that drop-off happens, blame the boss.  Wynn says it comes back to the way those workers have been treated.

“It's easy to say, oh, well, this particular situation kills productivity,” Wynn says.  “What really kills productivity is leaders who don't make their people feel valued on a consistent basis.”

Wynn says if employees feel appreciated and know their supervisor supports them, it doesn't really matter what day Christmas falls on.

“If your employees feel valuable, they feel cared for, they know that you support them, it doesn't matter when Christmas falls,” he says.  “You're going to get the most work from those people.”
