The National Football League has introduced new rules regarding what you can carry into a football stadium. They went into effect with the first pre-season games in response to the Boston Marathon bombing.
Items must be carried in a 12”x12” plastic, vinyl, or PVC tote bag, which are now being sold for $10 dollars with the Texan’s logo at the Texans shop, club merchandise outlets, or online at NFLshop.com.
Another option is to put your articles in a one-gallon zip-lock freezer bag, or smaller size bag.
Fans can carry a clutch purse but it can be no larger than 4 ½ inches by 6 ½ inches.
All other bags will be confiscated. An exception will be made for medically necessary items after proper inspection.
The Texans sent NFL-approved plastic tote bags to season ticket holders, and the first 50,000 fans to attend the first pre-season game will get free one-gallon plastic tote bags.
According to the NFL: “Prohibited items include, but are not limited to: purses larger than a clutch bag, coolers, briefcases, backpacks, fanny packs, cinch bags, seat cushions, luggage of any kind, computer bags and camera bags or any bag larger than the permissible size”.
