Mystery Surrounds Two Explosions in Memorial Area

Two controlled detonations surprise homeowners around Memorial Dr. and Chimney Rock.  An FBI spokesperson says they used explosives to dispose of “potential volatile substances” discovered during the execution of a search warrant.

A search warrant was also served at the Bryan condominium of those same homeowners on Friday.

According to the Associated Press, records show the properties are owned by a Houston art expert and her husband.  Local reports indicate a business associate of the couple has said their 22-year-old son is the focus of the FBI activity

Federal and local law enforcement are not commenting on the nature of their investigation, nor the circumstances leading to the execution of the search warrants.   Documents related to the case have  been sealed by court order.
