Construction crews will use explosives to continue the demolition of select portions of the Astrodome this weekend.
Tomorrow morning, three exterior ramp towers will be imploded.
Last month, voters defeated a 200-million dollar bond issue that would have saved the Dome and converted it into a multi-use convention facility. Now that the proposal has been turned down, political leaders in Harris County will again start debate on the fate of the Eighth Wonder of the World.
The Houston Archaeological and Historical Commission scheduled a December 12 vote to make the Astrodome a historical landmark, but the vote would only delay demolition by 90-days.
