Local woman dies in Spanish Train Crash

A Clear Lake woman dies from the injuries she suffered in a train crash in northern Spain.  59-year old Myrta Fariza and her husband Robert were touring Europe after attending their daughter's wedding in Rome:

"All she wanted was for me to hug her and that's all I could do.  And of course screaming out for help to see if they could actually take her in..."

Robert Fariza suffered minor injuries in the crash.

Fariza's son-in-law Brian Buerkett tells our TV partner Local-2 the family is still working out the details of bringing her home.

"This isn't true life to most people; this is so surreal and it feels like a horrible nightmare."

Spanish officials say 70 accident victims are still in the hospital - 22 of them are in critical condition.   The train conductor has been charged with negligent.
