HPD Officers Admit to Bribery

Two HPD officers arrested in January have admitted to bribery.

The two officers were caught in a sting operation in 2012.  The men accepted money in exchange for protecting a vehicle that was suspected of carrying cocaine.

Former officers Emerson Canizales and Michael Miceli were convicted of conspiracy to violate the Hobba Act.

Sentencing is set for September and both men face up to 20 years in prison and a possible $250,000 fine.
