On the busiest travel day of the season, Houston travelers are being advised to get to the airport at least two hours before their flight is scheduled to take off. Triple-A Texas spokesman Doug Shupe says more than 1-point-4 million people are expected to pass through Houston’s two airports over the next five days.
“We know there's going to be an increase in travel at Hobby,” Shupe says, “and of course it will be crowded at Bush Intercontinental Airport. You want to make sure that you are planning ahead of time, calling your airlines to make that those flights are scheduled to leave on time.”
A total of 3-point-4 million Texans will fly or drive at least 50 miles for Thanksgiving. And, a lot of people will be at airports.
More than a million people will be flying through Bush Intercontinental Airport and Hobby Airport is expecting to see about a 40 percent increase in travelers this Thanksgiving.
