Summertime is unofficially coming to Houston, with many car thermometers registering high temperatures in the 90’s. But this weekend’s case of so-called Triple-H, hazy, hot, and humid, is not being caused by ozone.
Experts with the National Weather Service say distant fires burning in Veracruz, Mexico are to blame. Smoke from agricultural fires has moved into mid and upper levels of the atmosphere, bringing haze to Houston.
Prevailing winds will guarantee a hot, humid weekend – with high temperatures 10 to 15 degrees higher than we’ve seen all month.
