Has Baseball Been Surpassed?

Has baseball lost its status as America's national pastime? The most extreme example is in Miami, where attendance is so low they've closed part of their park.

Sportstalk 790 host Matt Thomas says April attendance is usually low.

"I think weather, especially in the Midwest and east, has been horrific so far through the first six weeks of the season. A lot of people don't run to baseball games until the kids are out of school."

Attendance in Houston is low, but that's not weather, that's a struggling, young team. But the Astros' Christie Miller says fans here have one of the best ball parks in the majors.
