Residents in Gun Barrel City, Texas already love their guns, but now they have a city resolution to prove it.
Gun Barrell City passed a resolution recently that expresses the city's support for the United States Constitution and promotes gun ownership for its residents.
Mayor Paul Eaton says the resolution does not promote flagrant gun use, "we're not trying to raise a militia and I'm not ecouraging people to walk down the street toting a six-gun on their hip."
Eaton says the resolution is also a way to try and raise the profile of the city to attract new businesses to move there, "we would like to partner with corporations, we have a lot of land and we are considering building an industrial park."
Gun Barrel City is located 50 miles southeast of Dallas on Cedar Creek Reservoir and has an influx of over 10,000 people during the weekends and the summer.
