'Firefighters Helping Firefighters' Launches Today With Benefit Concert

A benefit is being held today for four firefighters seriously injured in the May 31st fire; the same fire that killed four Houston firefighters.

'Concert 4 Heroes' is today from 3-10p.m. at Discovery Green in downtown Houston. Concert 4 Heroes is the first fundraising event for Firefighters Helping Firefighters. A group of dedicated and concerned firefighters established Firefighters Helping Firefighters immediately following the deadly motel fire on May 31.

Funds raised will help provide much needed financial relief to these four surviving firefighters and their families. Captain William Dowling, Engineer-Operator Anthony Livesay, Fire Fighter Robert Yarbrough and Fire Fighter Foster Santos are the recipients of funds.  All of which are dealing with serious long-term injuries sustained while serving in the line of duty.

Performances from popular Texas bands and artists, including Stoney LaRue, Roger Creager, Cody Johnson, Dub Miller and Michaelis.

Tickets are $20 in advance and $25 at the Discovery Green gate. Donations are also being accepted here
