Crime Stoppers, 100 Club Team Up

The 100 Club of Houston has agreed to up the ante for Crime Stoppers in what the two groups are calling their Fallen Hero Project.

“When an officer or firefighter is injured or killed in the line of duty due to a felony act, and the fugitive is still at large, the 100 Club will be joining us to instantly double the cash reward of up to $5,000 that is in place to help us find that fugitive,” says Crime Stoppers' Rania Mankarious.

The two groups also plan to host a series of community events.

“These would be where law enforcement and firefighters are celebrated and the work they do is highlighted,” Mankarious tells KTRH News.  “We're going to be doing event for their families and helping them do continuing education.”

The first event is scheduled October 29, a screening of the film "Heroes Behind the Badge."
