Boredom Can be Good for You

Boredom Can be Good for You

Researchers say there may be a benefit to boredom: they say it may make you more creative.

The boredom research suggests being bored may lead to daydreaming. KTRH psychology expert Dr. Laurence Abrams says we all could use more daydreaming.

"It's not bad for anybody just to sit down and literally go to the bathroom or have a cup of coffee. You may be thinking or you're engaged in something but you're not stressed."

While you can't force yourself to be bored, Dr. Abrams suggests you schedule some time off each day where you have nothing better to do than daydream.

"You could arrange to have nothing to do for a while, you could even schedule nothing to do and schedule daydreaming. So you don't really have to be bored, it could be on your schedule."
