Amber Alert CANCELLED

UPDATE:  The Amber Alert has been lifted after the four children in question were located safely in Tennessee.

The Galveston County Sheriff’s Office has issued an Amber Alert for four bi-racial children, believed to have been taken by their biological mother.

Nine-year old Donae Mickens is the oldest of the children, and the only girl.  She and her brothers Donald Jr (6), Deyon (5), and Donovan (3) are believed to be in a gold Escalade with their mother – 34-year Beverly Mickens – who reportedly violated a court order imposed by CPS because of her extensive drug use and the children’s unstable home life.

Ms. Mickens stated on the phone that she is traveling back to Texas and the agency is concerned that she may be traveling under the influence of a controlled substance.  It has been reported that the family was involved in a car accident on the trip and the children may need medical care.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Galveston County Sheriff’s Office at 409-766-2322, ext.2.
