Airlines are Less Popular than the Post Office

Just when you thought it was safe to go back in the air... A new survey ranks the airline industry lower than the Postal Service in customer satisfaction.

The survey's results don't surprise Jared Blank, editor of Online Travel Review.

"People have been unhappy with airlines for years and years and I don't think that's going to change."

But Blank says the truth is customer service has never been better.

"There's TVs on planes and baggage handling has gotten much better and delays are typically much lower than in the past."

Tom Parsons of Bestfares.com says the airlines do nickel and dime us to death.

"The baggage fees; the change fees; the cancellation fees and then we have airlines like Spirit and Allegiant and Frontier charging up to a hundred dollars for what we call carry-on baggage fees.

Parsons says he thinks more carriers will try to emulate Southwest -- the top ranked airline in the survey.
