Abbott Will Face Davis for Governor

The field running for governor in Texas has been narrowed down to two.  Republican candidate Greg Abbott will face Democrat Wendy Davis in November.

VOTING RESULTS

Both primaries were called just over an hour after the polls closed in Texas Tuesday night.  Texas Attorney General Greg Abbott defeated three other primary challengers by grabbing over 90% of the vote.

State Senator Wendy Davis was running against one other opponent and grabbed over 70% of the vote.  Davis has been a rising star in the National Democratic Party after her attempted filibuster of Texas' new abortion regulation bill.

The race for Texas Governor has grabbed national headlines as Texas has become the only state really immune to many of the economic woes that plague most states.  That success is thought to be a driving force for outgoing Texas Governor Rick Perry to run for President again in 2016.
