The Food Fight Against Cancer, an event that unites Houston's world-class cancer care with the city's eateries to give the gift of health, is set for 7-10 p.m. Sun., Nov. 16, at Sparrow Bar + Cookshop, 3701 Travis St. For one night, select Houston restaurants will showcase delicious dishes comprised of ingredients known to fight cancer and alleviate the side effects of treatment. Participating diners will sample the items and determine the winner by voting for their favorites. Proceeds will help provide meals for out-of-town visitors living at the Halo House, a non-profit organization that provides affordable housing for blood-cancer patients during their treatment. Tickets are $130 at www.thefoodfightagainstcancer.com, where a list of participating restaurants is posted.
